Socks for Veterans
Project MALE students and volunteers typically collect socks for veterans as one of its community service projects. Project MALE partners with the others such as the Tommie Robinson American Legion Post 802 to donate those socks and other items to veterans at the VA Hospital in Dallas. Gift bags (socks, bottled water, Kleenex, and mints) are given out to grateful veterans with lots of hugs, handshakes, smiles, and salutes. This Project MALE initiative has been recognized in the past by Clarice Tinsley of Fox 4 News during her Hometown Heroes segment. Click on the image below to view the video clip.
